What is the setting of 9Bells?

 

With spreading plagues and failing feudal monarchs, the populous turn to the clergy, but the masses hailing to these mere mortal beings for salvation and sanctuary lead many of the clergy to become insidiously oppressive. The time of burning for heresy and crimes against the church is at hand... or paw. It is crime to speak against the church and their 'holy' warriors, are the bells tolling to signify someone else's demise, or is it as the fearful populous secretly hope deep in their breasts... that the sound spells the downfall of the church; after all, the only thing they've really lent to society lately has been a careful education of the masses, rather than just the nobility.
